4 out of 5 nearby searches go to someone else.
79% of searches near their own shop showed three other companies in Google's top 3. That's 504 of 637 spots, and each one is a homeowner calling someone else.
Homeowners call one of the three companies Google shows them, and those three change every few miles. We find where you drop out, fix why, and track every call through to a booked job.

#1 at its own shop. In the top 3 at just 1 of 49 spots, and out of the top 20 at 37. Every gray dot is a neighborhood where homeowners never see this company.
We searched like a homeowner at the spots within 7 miles of each shop, the area a company should own. Three things kept showing up.

37 of 49 were beaten near their own shop by a company with about half as many reviews. Categories, service areas and town pages decided it.
Homeowners now ask AI who to call: 45% of consumers used AI for local recommendations in 2026, up from 6% a year earlier.BrightLocal
None of this is about ad budget. Distance, categories, service areas and pages decide who shows up on each street, and an owner-run company can change all of them.
These 49 were shortlisted from 152 independent companies because their maps looked weak, so they aren't a random sample. Scans run with Local Falcon: 7 × 7 grid, 10-mile radius, one main search per trade, October 15, 2026; "near their own shop" is the 13 grid points within about 7 miles. "About half" is the median ratio of the competitor's reviews to the company's own. AI results come from nine checks of each company's main search across its service area.
Map scans for the jobs you want most, plus a check of what ChatGPT and Google's AI answers say about you.
We work through the fixes in order of which areas and jobs are worth the most to you.
Call tracking tied to your lead sources in ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro. Every month shows jobs booked and cost per booked job.
Every Growth Program includes the module for your trade.
Replacement jobs carry the margin. Using Census year-built data, we map the neighborhoods where most systems are reaching replacement age, then aim your replacement ads, mailers and maintenance offers there before the first cold snap.
Emergency calls go to whoever shows up and answers. We map who appears for "emergency plumber" across your area, fix the hours and 24-hour settings Google uses for "open now" searches, and set up text-back so a missed late call doesn't go to the next company on the list.
A new customer next to an existing route is a stop without the drive. We map your current stops and point your marketing at the streets around them, so growth adds density, not windshield time.
Broken springs and stuck openers go to whoever shows up first. We track who's ranking near you each month, spot new competitors as they appear, and flag and report listings that break Google's rules.
Each step answers the next question: am I losing calls, why, and can it be fixed and proven?

See my mapIsoline Growth started with what our founder, Neil, saw from both sides of the table.
He spent his career running marketing at Fortune 100 scale, at Allstate and Liberty Mutual and earlier in pharma, and managed close to $1 billion in advertising along the way. That covered captive and independent agents, e-commerce and lead generation, in B2C, B2B and B2B2C, with some budgets that were huge and some that were almost nothing. At Allstate he built the in-house digital media team and the tracking that showed thousands of locally owned agency offices which leads turned into sales.
More recently he advised a PE-backed national home services company on growth. The big operators had data teams, call tracking and agencies on retainer. The owner-run companies competing with them on the same streets mostly didn't.
Around the same time he was evaluating marketing agencies to acquire, and went through the books and delivery of more than a dozen. The same problems kept coming up: reports built on clicks, little connection to booked work, and high client churn treated as normal.
So Neil started Isoline Growth. We use AI to do the analysis and routine work quickly, we report in booked jobs, and a senior operator leads every account.
Bring your questions. We'll pull up your map on the call and tell you what we see, whether or not you work with us.
Times show in your local time zone; change it under the call details. Calendar not loading? Open the booking page.
One scan, one page. If your map looks good, we'll tell you that too.
No. The calls come to your own listing, website and phone number, and nobody else gets them. We charge a flat monthly fee, not per lead.
The Growth Program starts with a 90-day first term, because tracking and fixes need about a quarter to show up in booked jobs. We walk through the full terms on a call before anything is signed.
Neil, our founder, leads every account and joins your monthly results call. You won't be handed off to a junior account manager.
Manager access to your Google Business Profile, your website, and read access to lead sources and job status in ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro. If you run ads, access to those accounts too.
Anywhere in the US. Scans, tracking and fixes are all done remotely, and every engagement starts with a map of your own service area.
Google ranks local results on three things: how close the business is to the person searching, how well the listing matches the search, and how well known the business is. Distance changes every few miles, so most companies rank well near the shop and fade fast beyond it. In our October 2026 study of 49 established Charlotte-area companies, 79% of searches near their own shop showed three other companies in Google's top 3. Categories, service areas and town pages are what usually close that gap.
They help, but they don't decide it. In the same study, 37 of the 49 companies were beaten near their own shop by a competitor with fewer reviews, usually about half as many. Review count matters most when two listings are otherwise close. Profile categories, services, website pages and distance from the searcher often matter more.
Profile fixes like categories and service areas often show up within a few weeks. New service and town pages, reviews and links usually take one to three months. We don't promise rankings. We rescan the same grid every month so you can see what moved and what it did to booked jobs.
Our map scan is free. A one-time Booked-Job Audit is $1,500, credited to your first month if you start within 30 days. The Growth Program is $2,000 a month with a 90-day first term, and $3,000 a month if we also run your Google Ads and Local Services Ads. Ad spend is paid to Google from your own account.
Tell us your business and we'll send a one-page map of where you show up on Google across your service area, within 2 business days.
